(Author's note: This is a bfpt of the entire broken album. It is written from the perspective that O.J. Simpson is guilty. I don't know if he is, I don't actually care all that much anymore, but I had to pick one and this one was easier. Track 1 is an intro into the album, tracks 2 and 3 are told from the perspective of O.J. during the beginning and middle of the trial, track 4 is a brief interlude as America waits for the verdict, and tracks 5 and 6 are the public's (some of them) response to the verdict. Tracks 7 and 8, being secret special tracks, are told from the view of Nicole Simpson.)

simpsion

(grating guitar distortion growing louder and louder as in the background the sound of television news coverage on the "white bronco chase" is played backwards)

which

this is the first day of my trial
built em up now i pay em real well got the best defense my lawyers could sell
no need to testify, cross examination, i wouldn't want to lie
put my faith in cash and put on a show
now i'm real glad to have shapiro

which jury will we use which people will we see
which jury will we use in this case full of me

i'm the one who had the scheme i'm the one who's gotten the "dream team"
no new alibi, the other three, those worked out just fine
got to listen to your poor sense evidence mix up court fuck
don't think you're having any fun
you know me i paid everyone

which jury will we use which people will we see
which jury will we use in this case full of me

i want to but i can't confess
but i want to

lapse

gave up trying to look real good but my rep got thrashed along the way
worn out from explaining myself so i think i'll take the easy way
still payin' these lawyer guys
see what plans that they'll devise
i'm pleading not guilty now, i'm pleading today

come come come on you've got to get me off
come come can't let me go to jail for this
come come come on you've got to get me off
come come got to let me walk away from this

still feel nicole slipping away but it doesn't matter anymore
everybody knows that i did it, but it doesn't matter anymore
look at these hardened eyes
you'll see ten thousand lies
my lips say innocent but my heart knows i'm not

come come come on you've got to get me off
come come can't let me go to jail for this
come come come on you've got to get me off
come come got to let me walk away from this

i've had a memory lapse
can't remember now

i know that i'm getting away and it comes to me as no surprise
i know that a guilty verdict is never going to arrive
bad tests of sampled blood
those shiny leather gloves
dress up this rotten trial just to make it seem all right

come come come on you've got to get me off
come come can't let me go to jail for this
come come come on you've got to get me off
come come got to let me walk away from this

i've had a memory lapse
can't remember now

i wish i could put the blame on you

i want you to be me
i want you to see me
i want you to free me
and then i'm going to just walk away

help me i am in court

(droning metallic guitars and ambient humming while kato kaelin jokes along in the background and judge ito is heard calling order as the jury files into the room)

oj simpson's not guilty

simpson his lawyers know what they want
simpson his lawyers knew what to say
simpson so glad his trial went no further
simpson some claim he got away with murder

don't watch CNN you won't like what you see
the public is drowned with this damn court tv
don't watch CNN take it from me
i have heard
you have heard
oj simpson's "not guilty"

simpson nicole and goldman didn't want to die
simpson one wonders why he didn't testify
simpson this trial was an overhyped show
simpson bet he's glad to have had shapiro

don't watch CNN you won't like what you see
kato kaelin thinks he's really funny
don't watch CNN take it from me
i have heard
you have heard
oj simpson's "not guilty"

i don't know what he's done i don't know where he's been
bloody stains, black gloves and someone's sin
saw nicole and goldman in some tabloid 'zine
just some flesh caught in this big justice machine

oj simpson's "not guilty"

verdict

overhyped trial the kind that hurts the most
forgot how it feels, well that's justice
no one to blame
somehow the same
open your eyes wake up confess
it took you to make me realize
it took you to make me realize
it took you to make me realize
it took you to make me see the light
smashed up our sanity
smashed up democracy
smashed up what we believed in
smashed up our court system
smashed up our everything
smashed up all that was "true"
gonna smash my tv to pieces
i don't know what else to do

cover of time and of newsweek
cannot escape "trial of the century"
watching the courts they used to be firm
just watching them burn in their steady systematic return
of the trust they will betray
leave it to them they'll throw it away
after everything i heard i hate it all for what transpired

i heard
the verdict
throw it away

Now let your CD player click through tracks 7 to 97 -- tracks 98 and 99 are a couple of special hidden songs! (warning: not appropriate for some listeners)

violent (you're so)

you want to hit me don't you
you want to take me out
you want to call and harass me
and then you want to start the bout
you want me bruised in your arms
(so soft when i'm dead)
you take away my whole life
when you cut my sweet neck

'cause you're so violent to me
you're just so violent to me

i want a restraining order
i want you away from me
you make me feel your danger
so that you'll show me clearly
you want the touch of my arms
the heat of my breath
right now i'm saying those things
that are so much better said
in court

but you're so violent violent to me
you're just so violent oh
you're too violent for me

you're really jus- just so- just
so really fuck no
you're just so violent
you're just so violent
so fucking violent
no no no no no no no
oh you're so violent
just so violent
just so

cut

oj is free to walk the streets tonight
no sign of justice anywhere in sight
the jury watched but seemed so blind
the evidence was left behind
the jury doesn't want to see
this violence oj gave to me

how do i feel
how do i feel

he made it sharper than the sun
lost too much blood i came undone
i'd bow my head to confess
the ones he's killed are made of flesh
runs down my arms and forms a pool
as he removes the bloody tool
my wounds won't heal but he'll go free
no matter what he's not guilty

how do i feel
how do i feel

i am so fucked up on the inside

how do i feel
how do i feel

cut
cut
cut
cut

a thousand gloves a thousand knives
a thousand courts a thousand lies
a thousand ways to set him free
he's done some terrible things to me
