I was thinking about what a relief it was to get my NIN/Bowie tickets squared away the moment they went on sale...and then I started thinking about how I had to pay double last time because the show sold out by the time I could get to the window and I ended up having to cough up a lung for Spectrum Tickets...and then I started wondering why it is that no matter how fast a concert sells out there are always at least three brokers who have tickets -- but it'll cost ya -- and no matter when you purchase reserved-seating tickets there are no floor seats available...

...and it occurred to me that practically every one of the top shows being played in every major city in the United States is a king-hell fuckover for the fans...the bottom-feeders of the live-music industry have their own hidden agreements and payoff schemes, as well as all the decent tickets to all the concerts. And they all sing the same refrain: it's final, take it or leave it...put your money up, or your Visa....

support your local ticket broker
(all the way to the bottom of a six-foot hole in the ground)

i want a ticket to go see NIN
but at this markup i may have to sit and spin
i'm broke already, but now it's really rough
as if the Ticketbastard wasn't bad enough

scalpers suck...
scalpers suck...

i've crossed the city, looked everyplace
they rob me blind and then they laugh right in my face
somebody tell me should I give this one a pass
or just let Texas Tickets fuck me up the ass

(screwed again...)
scalpers suck...
(they've done it again!)
scalpers suck...

(...they all sing the same refrain:
it's final, take it or leave it...
put your money up, or your Visa....)

got a fantasy i'd really like to try
i'd kick their heinders and i'd hit 'em till they cry
i'd have them begging me for mercy on their knees
when they said "name your price" i'd say "face value, please"

scalpers suck...
scalpers suck...

that wasn't so good, now was it?
