I did not arrive until the very end of PWEI's set, but they appeared to be in fine form. They were hopping up and down as only the Poppies can, and their groove was infectious. Everyone in the bar was really into the show by the time the Poppies finished.
Prick came on next, and kicked into a great set. Unfortunately, I am one of those people that is unable to remember a set list to save my life, but I can tell you that they played their best songs, including "Communique" and "Animal." The lead singer looks like an older, slightly tamer version of Trent Reznor and was almost as dynamic.
Finally, Marilyn Manson took the stage, playing, among other tunes, "Get Your Gunn" and a haunting version of "Sweet Dreams." Mr. Manson kept his pants on that night, as far as I could tell, but he did take a couple of stage dives into the intimate, spastic pit below. Mr. Manson never returned to the stage after his final dive, and the crowd started chanting for "Cake and Sodomy," but he didn't deliver the goods. It was a short set, but sweet nonetheless.
No one was in a hurry to leave the bar, and as we ambled out the exit, we were greeting by gyrating females throwing "Nothing '95" t-shirts into the crowd. Everyone left quite satisfied that night, as Nothing/Interscope had put together a great show. It was a real treat to see all three of these fine bands performing together in one night.
